Blog | New Tags

As you may have noticed from the blog menu, I have changed the article tags around. This is usually the type of online tidying I look into during the holiday season, but I have decided to look into it early this year. This was also the occasion to look into what type of posts I'd like to write from now on. Here is what you will find on The Nife en l'Air...

Simplicity

Simplicity has always been the main topic of the Nife. From wardrobe editing to minimalism, questions around consumerism and materialism, this is what I enjoy sharing the most with you. Under this tag, you'll find articles about:
  • Editing and simplifying items
  • Slow life and reclaiming time for yourself
  • Little joys and ordinary pleasures of life
  • Questions around consumerism, material items and alternatives to all this
  • "Happy frugality", zero waste and such

Health

I have decided to create a tag around all things physical health. I already wrote articles about this in the past, but as I focus on improving my own health, I'd love to share my progress and learnings with you. Under this tag, you'll find articles about:
  • Physical health in general
  • Sports and other physical activities
  • Body care
  • All things food - nutrition, recipes...

Mind

This is the best word I have found for all the articles around mindset, psychology, life goals, brain biases, perception, habits, needs, but also happiness, mental and spiritual well-being and finding meaning in life. Under this tag, you'll find articles about:
  • Mindfulness, meditation and such
  • Psychology in general, positive psychology in particular
  • Thoughts around philosophical ideas of happiness, meaning and what makes life worth living
  • Brain biases, how the mind works, building habits...

Level Up

Level Up articles are, as they always were, about tips, tricks, experiments and mini-challenges to help out with life growth in various areas (physical, spiritual, material, creative...) Some general articles like resolutions will only be labelled "Level Up", others may also join one of the other tags.

Musings

This tag refers to all other articles, who don't belong to any of the tags above. The Food for Thought articles are in there because they cover several topics at once. There are also cultural finds and discoveries I'd like to share, blog and personal life updates like this very article, etc.

What's next for the Nife?

Those of you who have been following me for a while may have noticed that I have been less active these past months. This is probably linked to picking up on my fiction writing projects more seriously, and developing other writing and contribution projects in French at the moment.

I enjoy writing for the Nife very much though, and I'd like to keep a posting schedule of once to twice a week when I can, mainly on the three main topics above: simplicity, health and mind. I think sharing is an important part of growth, and it makes me happy when some of you send me comments or e-mails to share what you think about the Nife and how it affects your own growth.

For those of you who speak French, I still blog in French at La Nife en l'Air, mostly about cultural reviews and my fiction projects, but I do post some articles about simplicty and growth in French as well.

I hope you enjoy reading this little blog as much as I enjoy keeping it open. It's been over four years already, and when I look at the archives, it's incredible how much one can change in such a short time. I hope all is well for your own projects and life changes as well!

  4. Agree with Colourasabeginning and Rinna; so glad you have a plan and will continue posting. I particularly appreciate your unique sensibility, in the meaning of "the ability to appreciate and respond to complex emotional or aesthetic influences; sensitivity".

  6. I was getting a tiny bit worried that you would 'get over' blogging - simplifying has lead me to stop reading many blogs but I still very much enjoy yours. So chiming in here with everyone else: glad to hear of these plans, they sound great, and I'd rather have one to two posts here every week that are of your usual quality than five fillers or none at all :).

    1. I see what you mean, it's true that I used to post much more often, I guess it's normal to have phases. Also, simplifying leads to having less time to spend on the internet, but I'm definitely not over blogging! I guess it's a case of "be the change you want to see in the world", I like sharing my journey, hoping this can help or inspire some readers :)

  8. Are you ok? After I saw news of attacks, one of my first thoughts was for you and those you love. A quiet but faithful reader sending healing messages from here in the States.

    1. We are OK, myself and my close friends, thank you very much for your concern! We are all under shock obviously, one of the shootings was a few streets away from home, but so far everyone I know is safe. Thank you for your kind message, it is very comforting :)
