I learned a bit about Epicurus in high school Latin, but he was set off against the stoicists there and it seems that did not do the man justice.
I will be happy to let you push me into enjoying the imperfect joys of everyday life :). Reading your posts keeps me motivated when all around me I see people running around like crazy trying always to get more, more, more (money, pleasure, success, life-changing experiences...).liesbethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11485467978570414848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4278952973244360576.post-70163973618835045612015-11-10T14:12:58.404+01:002015-11-10T14:12:58.404+01:00I think there might be too much of an injunction f...I think there might be too much of an injunction for happiness indeed, and pursuing it all the time make us forget what we have here and now. I love your ordinary joy, I can imagine the scene. Motherhood sounds like a wonderful joy of life indeed :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18258704812525496584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4278952973244360576.post-25476741278020733152015-11-10T14:10:00.809+01:002015-11-10T14:10:00.809+01:00Thank you Archana! Like you, I've been cutting down on material things for a while now and I feel much happier and also I've learned to appreciate more what I do have.
One of my ordinary joys is having a quiet, slow breakfast whilst my 2 month old baby is asleep. Looking at his peaceful little face whilst sipping my morning coffee is like heaven to me :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16199549436404532696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4278952973244360576.post-26477181217033528182015-11-07T21:01:41.667+01:002015-11-07T21:01:41.667+01:00Such beautiful words.
